About

My name is Joey Hilton. As a native of Manning, SC, I excelled in the arts and academics early in life. After graduating from Manning High School, I enrolled at Claflin University on an Art Scholarship. As an undergrad, I studied drawing, painting, graphics, photography, sculpture and ceramics. I transferred to South Carolina State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media. Later, I decided to further my education at the Academy of Art University, where I received my Master’s Degree in Graphic Design and Digital Media. Having been exposed to multiple disciplines inside the field of art, I wasn’t quite sure which direction my career would go in. While balancing commissions for drawings, paintings, and photography, my requests for graphic design projects skyrocketed.

Growing up, I gained an interest for music and history. As I worked in the field of design, I began to think of ways to incorporate my passions into my work. While I’ve made myself readily available to recording artists, music producers and songwriters, I’ve always been working on ways to re-introduce history to my network and clients. Eventually, I realized that I would be receiving design requests from many different types of clients, so I expanded my portfolio to reflect the needs of my clients.

Currently, I work at South Carolina State University as a Digital Media Specialist and Web Developer.
